Joanie Lim has completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Toronto. She graduated with Distinction in Computer Science from Trinity College. After a few years as a software engineer, she returned to begin her Masters on usable privacy and security in collaboration with KMDI (Knowledge Media Design) and IPSI (Identity, Privacy, and Security). She is currently fascinated with the role of biometrics in HCI such as emotions and its corresponding interplay with mental cognitive abilities. Her other research interests include data collection and privacy policies, as well as cybersecurity analytics.
