Dr. Barbara Barbosa Neves was a Research Associate and Associate Director of the Technologies for Aging Gracefully lab. Before that, she was an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, where she taught and conducted research on sociology of technology, aging, social capital, and social research methods. Her work with TAGlab included examining the ways in which Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can be adopted and used by older adults to support and enhance social connectedness, active aging, and social inclusion. Barbara received her PhD in Social Sciences from the Technical University of Lisbon in 2012, with co-supervision by Professor Barry Wellman at NetLab (University of Toronto).
